Serving God is a desire that is sparked at the moment one turns their life over to Christ. Serving God can be done in many ways. In this post I want to talk about serving God by serving the poor, the sick and those who are incarcerated.
Battle hardened soldiers are a priceless commodity in any war. From a Spiritual standpoint, God needs battle hardened soldiers in order to share their combat experiences with others who are fighting the same battle they have fought and overcome.
Truth is a standard. It’s our baseline. Truths based on what God has to say in His Word are our “Rules of Engagement”. Or should I say, wise men use it as their standard of measure.
Our God is a chill God. He’s not stressed out about anything. Why should He be? He knows how this thing called life is going to end. I believe He also has a sense of humor that is off the chain. He laughs when He shows up in our lives and we call it a “coincidence”.
Trust God to get you through life’s ups and downs. Living this life of faith that the bible speaks of is a daily journey. We must learn to trust God as much as we trust mere humans to “thrill” us at amusement parks.
Forgive and forget. Those words can be easier said than done. Holding on to offenses only harms you, not them. How many times have we heard those words. And how many times have we wanted to slap the person who dares to utter them in our time of offense.
Faith In Gods Word causes fear to cower, turn tail and flee in terror. Fear is no match for the informed believer who’s faith is firmly based in God and in His Word.
Cast your cares on Him because He cares for you…. 1 Peter 5:7
The human body was not designed to carry stress. Medical science has told us for years that stress related illnesses are the number one killer in society today. For the Christian, we have scripture after scripture that tell us what to do with our cares.
Sowing seeds is how we spend our days. You cannot live on planet earth without sowing seeds in the lives of others. The seeds we sow are either positive or negative. Words can be seeds, and actions can be seeds. But either way, the lives we choose to live influence those around us.
Cares and worries are a part of life. However, if we’re not careful, the cares and worries of this world will steal the joy that comes with living a life in Christ.
Trusting in the Lord requires us to live our lives based on scripture rather than what we can see, hear, touch, taste or smell. Trust requires us to sometimes leave the boat of the sense world and make decisions that may conflict with “natural” wisdom.
To Protect and to Serve is a statement that has been adopted as the motto for a majority of police departments in the United States. However, this was not initially the case. The history behind the famous phrase has its origin in Los Angeles, as the motto of the LAPD, ironically enough.
Believing with the heart carries with it conviction without a single hint of doubt. Believing with the heart is faith in action.
Emotional pain is real. There is no pain like the emotional pain of a divorce or separation. I wish this type of scar on no one. The key to going through the ending of a relationship successfully is trusting God.
.We go through things in life that aren’t very pleasant. Going through tough times is par for the course if you’re a living, breathing soul on this earth.
Compassion for what others have to go through in life can sometimes be overlooked when ministering to the needs of those around us. It’s great to have a genuine desire to see better conditions and circumstances for others but until we actually feel the pain of others, our sense of life from the other person’s perspective is very limited.
Endurance, as it relates to anything in life, comes down to one thing and one thing only: How bad do you want to win? Physical limitations, poor education, less than perfect circumstances, being raised in a single-parent home, the color of your skin, a lack of finances, and a myriad of other factors can only hinder your success if you allow them to.
Developing the abilities that you have hidden within you on a daily basis means more than simply becoming better at something you’re gifted in. Developing your talents means that you become a better and more skilled teammate within the Body of Christ.
Protection from the destructive forces of this world is something that’s very easy to take for granted. Particularly if you consider your life mundane and relatively uneventful.
Harmony….amazing things happen when people do things in harmony. One of the reasons why I love sitting in the first, second, or third row at church is because I have a clear view of the worship band on Sunday mornings.
