Sympathy from friends when we’re going through the trials of life can be intoxicating. As humans, it feels good to be cared for. It feels good to be confirmed and acknowledged. But as perverted as it may seem, the good feeling of sympathy received can become more important to us than actively overcoming our situations through the Power of God.
