Sin Consciousness – How To Walk Free From The Guilt Of Sin
Sin consciousness is an enemy to righteousness. When we walk under a consciousness of sin, we cannot please God. It’s up to us to refuse to walk in condemnation and guilt when we sin.
You’ve prayed, you’ve read your bible, you’ve spent time with God and you look up and you find yourself in a sinful situation. You have sinned. You feel bad, you repent, you confess your sin and you go on.
But the following day you commit the same sin. Then next week you commit the same sin. Next month you repeat the same sin. And you look up and several years have gone by and you’re still committing the same sin.
The forgiveness of our Lord and Savior goes far beyond our ability to understand it. People may toss you on the scrap heap. Some may condemn you and tell you that you’ll never change. But we serve a God whose forgiveness is never ending. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases and His mercies never come to an end.
Sin will always exist. As long as we’re in our bodies on this earth sin will exist. Try as we might, none of us will ever reach a point where we don’t sin. If you are fortunate enough to be here on the day that Jesus returns to receive His church, you will sin. Sin will always be a part of our lives.
The bible says in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There is no need for us to walk around under condemnation. Thank God for the Blood of Jesus! Don’t carry around guilt over sin. Don’t be weighed down by condemnation.
Sin Consciousness vs Sin Consequences
Now understand this…although God will forgive you of your sin, you may still have to suffer the consequences of your sin. Have you stolen something? You may have to go to jail for it. If you’re pregnant before God forgave you, you’ll still be pregnant afterward. If you lied on the job, you may still lose your job. The fact that God forgave you does not eradicate the aftermath or the consequences of your sin.
I’d also like to say that you suffering through the consequences of your sin is not God’s judgement on your life because of your sin. If you confessed your sin according to 1 John 1:9 in God’s eyes, your sin doesn’t even exist anymore!
So don’t beat yourself up. Don’t punish yourself. Don’t allow the enemy to convince you that the consequences of your sin is God’s punishment or God’s judgement because you sinned.
God will help you eradicate sin from your life if you give Him the opportunity to. God doesn’t condemn you. He won’t beat you up over your sin. Neither should you. Watch the video “The Steadfast Love Of The Lord Never Ceases: His Mercies Never Come To An End”.
