Seeking Jesus
Seeking Jesus and becoming more like Him is a never-ending, life long pursuit. The things of God aren’t just plopped down in our laps. If we want to be “disciples indeed“, the truths revealed in God’s Word must be pursued. Countess times in scripture we see verses that talk about the benefits of seeking after God. Victorious Christian living is not the default result of being born again. If we want to see the hand of God move mightily in our lives, the ways of God and the blessing He has stored up for us must be mined daily.
I’d like to encourage you today to become a truth seeker. Seeking Jesus pleases Him just as an earthly father takes pride in the child that imitates what he does and says. And as we continue on our quest to be more like Him, His presence in the earth is magnified more and more through His Body, the church.
Simple Reminders of who we are, what we have, and what we can do in Christ can empower us to overcome in virtually every area of life. Countless times in scripture we are commanded to remember. Remembering causes the current monsters we’re facing to shrink before our eyes.
Remembering that God is working in us, on us, around us and through us causes the believer to become bold as a lion. And remembering how our Heavenly Father has delivered us from situations and circumstances in our lives that at one point looked bleak, strengthens us to endure present circumstances knowing that the God of deliverance still lives.
