Good Stewards Exemplify Thanksgiving
Good stewards display their gratitude simply by being good stewards. By managing the blessings of God well, you show that you cherish that which God has given you. And when you manage well that which God has given you, will He not give you more of the same? In the parables told in Matthew 25:14-30 and Luke 19:11-27, Jesus illustrates for us that we are to use what God has given us to bring Him glory and honor. In both parables Jesus was please with those who were good stewards and increased what they were initially given.
In the parables above money was used, however good stewardship can be applied to any and everything God has given us, including our bodies. I’d like the encourage you today to become a good steward of that which God has given you. It doesn’t matter how much or how little you have. What matters is what you do with what God has given you.
Simple Reminders of who we are, what we have, and what we can do in Christ can empower us to overcome in virtually every area of life. Countless times in scripture we are commanded to remember. Remembering causes the current monsters we’re facing to shrink before our eyes.
Remembering that God is working in us, on us, around us and through us causes the believer to become bold as a lion. And remembering how our Heavenly Father has delivered us from situations and circumstances in our lives that at one point looked bleak, strengthens us to endure present circumstances knowing that the God of deliverance still lives.
