Godly Living is Life and Peace
Godly living entails many things. Godly living can be equated to striving to live a Christ-like lifestyle. But what does that mean exactly? A large part of living the Christ-like lifestyle has to do with who and what you choose to identify with. Ask yourself, Who and/or what am I tethering my life to? What sustains me? What would I find difficult to live without? What am I attached to to such a degree that I would find life difficult to live without?
Finding my value in Christ means living for and becoming more like Christ. It’s my life goal. And as I become more like Him, my attachment to the things of this world, including the negative influences of people becomes weaker and weaker. Strive toward freedom. Refuse to be bound to the opinions of people, the influence of money, and the guilt of past experiences. Strive to become the son that’s spoken of in John 8:36. In doing so, you’ll find that tethering your life to Christ will be more satisfying than anything the world can tempt you to attach yourself too.
Simple Reminders of who we are, what we have, and what we can do in Christ can empower us to overcome in virtually every area of life. Countless times in scripture we are commanded to remember. Remembering causes the current monsters we’re facing to shrink before our eyes.
Remembering that God is working in us, on us, around us and through us causes the believer to become bold as a lion. And remembering how our Heavenly Father has delivered us from situations and circumstances in our lives that at one point looked bleak, strengthens us to endure present circumstances knowing that the God of deliverance still lives.
