Trust God to get you through life’s ups and downs as much as we trust mere humans to “thrill” us at amusement parks….
I just saw a TV commercial for the latest thrill ride at Six Flags. The ride takes you 100 MPH from a standing start in 7 seconds then shoots you up a 41 story tower.
Then the ride drops you in a 415 foot free fall that gives you the sensation of weightlessness for 6.5 seconds. As I sat here watching the ride filled with people with their hands raised high, several thoughts went through my mind. Continue reading
Faith, when seen up close for the first time can look completely different than what we imagined it to look like. The image of real faith in action is what we need to dislodge our misconceptions of what faith is and shake us into the realization of what real, practical, biblical faith is. Continue reading
Gods Word is the guide to solving the problems that we have to deal with in life. Life is hard sometimes. There are things we have to deal with in our lives from time to time that can look overwhelming. In most cases if we could see our way out of our circumstances, we wouldn’t be nearly as concerned with issues in our lives. Continue reading
Blessed are those who take God at His word without requiring any evidence or proof to validate what they believe.
Over the years in my Christian walk I have heard friends, associates and even ministers give great testimonies of how God physically appeared to them giving certain instructions pertaining to their lives. Continue reading
Strength is what the Christian should be known by. We have one that is greater than any circumstance that we could possibly encounter living on the inside of us. Strength is the evidence that the Joy of the Lord is at work within us (Nehemiah 8:10). Continue reading
Trusting your instruments as a Pilot, must be mastered in order to attain the highest level of proficiency. Pilots are governed by two different types of flight rules. VFR (Visual Flight Rules) and IFR (Instrument Flight Rules). The guidelines for both are as follows: Continue reading
I love the message in this commercial. God has given us “wonderfully made” bodies. He has given us amazing minds to control our bodies. And He has given us free will to complete the package. We’ve heard of people all over the world who have faced daunting circumstances and have overcome them. Once the quality decision has been made to overcome, the challenge is over. The will to make something happen cannot be denied. The video clip shows Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls playing in game 5 of the 1996-97 NBA championship series against the Utah Jazz. The Word of God is the anchor that the Christian can securely hold onto in the midst of every storm of life. The Word of God is secure. The Word of God is steadfast and the Word of God is immovable.
In 2001 right after the 9/11 attack, I worked as a Sea Marshal with the Los Angeles Port Police Dept. One of my teams’ responsibilities was to go out by boat and search incoming tanker, container and cruise ships prior to their arrival in the Port. Continue reading
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Faith in God and in His Word is fundamental. Without it, it’s impossible to please God, Hebrews 11:6 tells us. It’s foundational to the Christian life. It’s the is the jumping off point. I believe faith can move mountains. Faith in God’s Word can be dynamic. It can change and rearrange things in the life of the believer. However faith can also fail depending on the weight of the conflict you’re facing. Jesus prayed for Peter in Luke 22:31-34 that His faith fail not. Continue reading
They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever….Psalm 125:1
Trust is a higher level of your Christian walk. Trust cannot be moved. Trust is a choice made by the believer. Trust doesn’t care why a prayer wasn’t answered like the recipient thought it should have been answered. Trust is not moved by disaster or calamity, or threats, or adverse circumstances. Trust knows that our vantage point in life stems from an extremely limited view of the world and conditions around us. Continue reading
