Cast Your Cares On The Lord….And Get On With Your Life
Cast your cares on Him because He cares for you…. 1 Peter 5:7
The human body was not designed to carry stress. Medical science has told us for years that stress related illnesses are the number one killer in society today. For the Christian, we have scripture after scripture that tell us what to do with our cares.
Philippians 4:6, 1 Peter 5:7, and Matthew 6:25-34 are just a small sample of what the scriptures have to say about how to handle stress. Most Christians that have been serving the Lord for any length of time have heard these scriptures.

But unfortunately, what we haven’t seen (or heard) of very often is an example of someone who has determined in their heart to live a carefree life. Nor have we heard very many testimonies of the benefits of living a stress free life.
I ran across the testimony below this morning and decided to share it with you. The name of the person and the image have been changed for the privacy of the individual.
I hope it inspires you as it did me to cast my cares on the Lord daily, knowing that the power to motivate through this life doesn’t come from me.
So as a wise man once said, why worry about the things you have no control over?
Cast Your Cares And Leave Them Behind
I’m a Canadian girl who was diagnosed with an incurable heart condition around the age of 60. After countless efforts to heal, the doctor gave me six months to live!
Since that time, I’ve driven by myself from Canada to Mexico. I’ve lived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, bought and sold a condo there. I worked in Tourism and made a very good living. I’ve dated, fallen in love, lost someone I loved who worked for a nation in a clandestine position. I began a writing career. The first published book after my poetry was the story of my healing or my miracle. My book has amazing reviews from people who needed to be inspired and encouraged to live their best life no matter what their age.
And in 2019 I sold all my belongings in Mexico and bought one-way tickets to foreign destinations. I had no idea where I would decide to live when my trip was over. I celebrated my 72nd birthday in Tel Aviv Israel while I listened to the sound of a bomb exploding!
And now for the last almost three years, I’m living, loving, and writing in Istanbul, Turkey. I will celebrate my 75th in March.
I’m having the best time of my life! If anyone had told me how wonderful (and colorful) my life would be right now, I would have rushed to get here sooner!
