What Must I Do To Be Saved?
What must I do to be saved? It’s a simple question. It’s the question the jailer asked Paul and Silas in the Book of Acts 16:30.
The answer given in the next verse “believe in the Lord Jesus Christ” is just as simple.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ isn’t complicated at all. Those who receive from God are ones who approach Him as a child who simply believes.
Faith and Belief – Two Sides of the Same Coin
[pullquote]If you, as the jailer in the Book of Acts have reached the point where you’re ready to give your life over to Christ (or be saved), I would be honored to introduce you to my Savior.[/pullquote]
The Christian life is lived from the inside out. We hear God’s Word and we develop faith based upon what we hear (Romans 10:17). The faith that is gained by hearing is one side of a two-sided coin. The other side of the coin is called belief.
No doubt if you’re ready to give your life over the God, or “be saved”, it’s because either someone told you about Jesus, you read a blog post, or maybe it was His still small voice within you that has brought you to this point. What you heard has caused faith to rise within you.
But what about the belief side of the coin?
The bible says that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). True faith demands action. The action is the belief side of the coin. In this instance, the belief or corresponding action to your faith will be the words that come out of your mouth as we pray together in a moment.
What Must I Do To Be Saved?
If you, as the jailer in the Book of Acts have reached the point where you’re ready to give your life over to Christ (or be saved), I would be honored to introduce you to my Savior.
Faith in God’s Word is here. Now add the action to your faith by repeating the following prayer out loud…
Heavenly Father I thank you for loving me. Thank you for accepting me just as I am. I believe that you send your son Jesus to die for my sins. I believe that you raised Him from the dead. Thank you for forgiving me of my sin. I’m asking you to be the Lord of my life. Come into my heart. I’m asking you to be my Lord and my God. I thank you that I am yours and you are mine forever….amen.
Let me be the first to welcome you into the family!
I’m excited for you and the amazing future you have ahead. I’d love to hear about your experience. Please feel free to leave a comment in the comment section below. I’d love to offer you some encouragement as you begin your new life in Jesus Christ!
