Love is the most powerful force known to mankind. The bible says love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). Love has a way of breaking down the hardest of hearts and causing an inward contentment that changes the atmosphere around you from the inside out.
When you show love to someone, you are actually showing them God. Some of us want to see God manifest Himself in our lives. Well if you want to “see God”, manifest love, for God is love.
We are in a season of love in our household with our boys. For the past few months there has been no fighting or arguing. The boys are actually being kind to one another! Sam and I keep checking out each room of the house for hidden cameras, but to date we haven’t found any.
When love is present, it changes the atmosphere. It causes us to want to spend more time together as a family. I believe love makes our heavenly Father smile. I believe it warms His heart when we love and show kindness to one another. Our God is love. Apart from Him, there is no other source of love.
Think about that statement for a moment. When you show love to someone, you are actually showing them God. Some of us want to see God manifest Himself in our lives. Well if you want to “see God”, manifest love, for God is love.
Not only does it please God when we love one another, I believe it melts His heart when we love Him with all of our hearts. What if you as a parent asked your teenager to mow the front lawn and his response to you was “Yes, I will mow the front lawn, but I love you so much I’m going to mow the backyard too”.
Nothing makes a parent feel better than having a child who is willing to go the extra mile. To do over and above what was asked. To extend themselves even before a request has been made.
Love Makes the Father Smile
Think about the many ways you as a child of God can serve Him. Spend some time mulling over how to make Him smile. Be creative in how you can get God to manifest Himself through love in your midst and in the midst of others.
There are many ways you can witness to the lost and show them the presence of God by showing them unconditional love.
As you go out into the world this week, I encourage you to spend some time thinking of unique ways you can show the love of God to those around you. Become addicted to showing love. Let the giving of yourself become your hallmark, and you will see the love of God work miraculously in the lives of those around you.
