An x-ray image has the ability to show doctors what’s going on inside your body. X-ray images show us things which cannot be seen. Many times doctors have been able to recommend evasive action based upon an x-ray image.
We are admonished in Gods Word to walk by faith, not by sight. In fact we are told to LIVE by faith. In order to live by something that can’t be seen, we need a guide that will help us navigate through areas where we cannot see.
Just as following the orange line at County USC led me to where I was supposed to be within the hospital, following Gods Word will lead you to where you’re supposed to be in life.
Many years ago I went to County USC Hospital to visit someone. County USC is one of the oldest hospitals in Los Angeles. In fact, for many years County USC was known as General Hospital and was shown in the beginning of the General Hospital soap opera.
County USC has different color lines painted on the floors throughout the building. These guidelines make it easy for hospital personnel to help you get to any area of the hospital. So for example, if I needed to get to the Radiology Dept, I would follow the green line. If I wanted the Surgery waiting area, I would follow the blue line, etc.
On my hospital visit, I remember walking down dimly lit corridors following an orange line on the floor and thinking that I had certainly made a wrong turn somewhere judging by the area of the hospital I found myself in. But as I kept walking, I eventually reached my destination.
Just as following the orange line at County USC led me to where I was supposed to be within the hospital, following Gods Word will lead you to where you’re supposed to be in life. Following Gods Word allows us to live life based on something more stable than what we can see around us.
Following Gods Word takes the Pressure Off
“Come unto me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentile and humble of heart and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”. Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
If you’re lost in life, and not quite sure what direction to go in, I encourage you to allow Gods Word to lead and guide you into all truth. Don’t be distracted by things going on around you. Walk by faith and not be sight and you will find that very soon you will arrive at your destination in life.
