Today I had a life changing experience. My world was shaken to the core and I’m still trying to recover. I was driving down historic Route 66 enjoying a beautiful sunny morning on my way to our monthly Men’s Breakfast. I glanced to my right and saw a Sara Lee bread delivery truck. A childhood jingle was printed on the side of the truck which read “Nobody does it like Sara Lee”.
I did a double take. And if the traffic light wasn’t red I would have gone around the block just to make sure I was reading the side of the truck correctly. For as long as I can remember I have sung the Sara Lee jingle as “Nobody doesn’t like Sara Lee”. I’ve gone for over 50 years thinking and singing the wrong thing! I would have defended the words to the Sara Lee jingle to the death.
No other prophet or self professing man of god has ever made it as plain as Jesus did when He said “I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by me”.
When I got to the restaurant, I shared my revelation with the men over breakfast. The majority of them were just as shocked as I was. It seems I wasn’t the only one who had it wrong. On my way home after breakfast I started thinking about people all over the world who are worshipping various gods, exercising different religious beliefs, and defending a multitude of spiritual viewpoints.
No doubt these people would bet their lives on the fact that their beliefs are correct. No one purposely sets out in life to be wrong. We all think that the God we worship is the only true God.
I purposely imagined what it would feel like to live out my whole life thinking that I was living in a way that was pleasing to God, only to get to the end of my days and find out that I was wrong. What a tragedy. What a waste of life.
In Gods Word, Jesus left no doubt about whom the true God is. In Gods Word, Jesus also told us in no uncertain terms that He was the only way to get to the Father. No other prophet or self professing man of god has ever made it as plain as Jesus did when He said “I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by me”. There is no room for misinterpretation there.
Add to that the fact that there has never been another book that has spoken of as many prophetic events that have come to pass as the bible has.
Gods Word leaves no room for misinterpreting the lyrics
In my experience with the Sara Lee jingle, if I had taken the time to listen and research the lyrics, I would have found out that I was singing and believing the wrong words. Likewise, if anyone takes the time to get into Gods Word and seek Him, they will find the one and only true God.
No matter what religion or spiritual viewpoint you are following, I encourage you to do your research. Study Gods Word with an open heart and genuinely seek the truth. Surprises are great, but when this life is over I don’t want any surprises concerning my eternal destiny and neither should you.
