God loves us so much that He gave us His very best
God loves us more than our human minds can fathom. We are indeed truly precious in His sight. There are two qualities that make something rare or precious. The first quality is its scarcity. The less plentiful a commodity is, the more value it has. Secondly is its ability to be refined.
For example, a diamond increases in value when cut properly. In the case of Gold or any other precious metal, its value goes up as its purity level increases.
The Hope Diamond was formed deep within the earth approximately 1.1 billion years ago. Valued between 200-250 million dollars, its cut, clarity, color and the fact that it’s a one of a kind piece make it one of the rarest diamonds in the world.
God loves you. Meditate on the fact that God loves you. You are the object of His affection. You are His chosen vessel. You are an extremely rare and precious commodity to Him. He gave His very best for you.
To say that a one of a kind item is rare would be an understatement. There is only one. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. There will never be another.
If you had $250 million and if the Hope Diamond was for sale, would you buy it? I’m sure it would be nice to say that you owned such a one of a kind piece. However, I have another question for you. If the price of the Hope Diamond was your only son, would you still be interested in buying it?
Take a moment to reflect on how precious you are to the Father. As a child of almighty God, you are a rare commodity. There is only one you. There has never been one before, nor will there ever be one after you. You are the only you He will ever have.
You are such a precious commodity to Him that He willingly gave His only Son to assure that He would be able to enjoy fellowship with you forever – John 3:16.
God loves us enough to give us His best
Pause and think about that for a moment. Think about the creator of all life….the creator of the Universe loving you enough to give His very best in order to have fellowship with you.
Due to abuse, abandonment, mistreatment and various other forms of conditioning throughout our lives, many of us have a difficult time feeling like we are lovable.
Because of the lack of love in our lives, we read scriptures like John 3:16 and we fail to get the impact of how much God loves us.
I encourage you to begin to see yourself today as God sees you. God loves you. Meditate on the fact that God loves you. You are the object of His affection. You are His chosen vessel. You are an extremely rare and precious commodity to Him. He gave His very best for you.
What He asks of us in return pales in comparison. We are no longer our own, for we have been bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in our bodies – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
