Epic Moments in our Walk with Christ

Epic moments and opportunities for miraculous displays of courage take place in our lives daily. These moments can be handed down for generations to come. It’s up to us to recognize these opportunities and act on them.

faith comes by hearing

There are certain epic movie quotes that will never die. When the writers penned the quotes below, they had no idea that these lines would live forever. However great writing and great acting gave birth to epic quotes that will pass on from generation to generation forever…

Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn – Gone with the Wind (1939)

I’m going to make him and offer he can’t refuse – The Godfather (1972)

Toto, I’ve got a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore – The Wizard of Oz (1939)

Go Ahead, make my day – Sudden Impact (1983)

What we’ve got here is a failure to communicate – Cool Hand Luke (1967)

May the force be with you – Star Wars (1977)

There are literally hundreds of epic lines that have been spoken in the movies over the years such as the ones above that even our children’s children are familiar with. Some of our children have never seen these movies and they don’t know who the actors are who originally spoke these famous quotes, but they know the quote.

Likewise, there have been epic events and speeches that have forever changed the course of history. Epic moments like September 11th, Rosa Parks’ historic refusal to give up her seat on a public bus, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the Apollo 11 moon landing, Vietnam, and Martin Luther King Jr’s famous “I have a dream” speech.

Epic Moments in the Life of Christ

Even in the life of Christ, we read about epic moments such as Jesus turning water to wine at the wedding at Cana, His encounter with the woman with the issue of blood, and the time He cursed a fig tree and commanded it to wither a die. The bible says that Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them had been written down, even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written (John 21:25).

We too have daily opportunities to have epic moments lived out and recorded in our lives. These epic moments have the potential to remain in the hearts and minds of our families, friends, and relatives forever. We have opportunities to walk in love with the unlovable. We have opportunities to walk in the God kind of faith and move mountains in our lives. We have opportunities when led and guided by the Holy Spirit to be world overcomers.

Live a Supernatural Life!

I encourage you today to live a supernatural life. Live a life of faith and integrity that your children’s children will talk about long after you’re gone. Stand out from those around you as Jesus stood out from the crowd when He walked the earth by living an epic life. As you set out each day to live a Christ-centered epic life, you will draw those who are hungry for His power to you as never before.

The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11). Think about that for a moment. Meditate on that verse. How can we live anything other than supernatural, epic lives! Let your light shine before men that they may see your epic good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
