Jesus did things while He walked the earth that had never been done before. Jesus was a one-of-a-kind figure who was so distinctly different that His presence could not be ignored. Continue reading
Life without God is a life lived solely under your own strength. To use the word “limited” in describing a life without God would be an understatement. Continue reading
Today I had a life changing experience. My world was shaken to the core and I’m still trying to recover. I was driving down historic Route 66 enjoying a beautiful sunny morning on my way to our monthly Men’s Breakfast. I glanced to my right and saw a Sara Lee bread delivery truck. A childhood jingle was printed on the side of the truck which read “Nobody does it like Sara Lee”. Continue reading
Salvation through Jesus Christ, is the foundation of Christianity. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me“.
Salvation through Jesus Christ is the bridge between God and man. Acceptance of God’s Son assures you of eternal life beginning here in this life, and continuing on into life after your body physically dies and your spirit leaves this earth.
If you don’t have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, you can make Jesus the Lord of your life right now through prayer.
There dosen’t need to be an audience. There dosen’t need to be a huge proclamation. You can accept Jesus as the Lord of your life right where you are right now through prayer.
Prayer is simply talking to God. God knows your heart and is not as concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. Salvation isn’t about you trying to clean yourself up before coming to God. Salvation is about accepting the fact that you are in need of a Savior. It’s about confessing with your mouth, Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life and believing that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10).
Do this, and the bible says that you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. There dosen’t need to be an audience. There dosen’t need to be a huge proclamation. You can accept Jesus as the Lord of your life right where you are right now.
The Prayer of Salvation
Below is a simple guide to lead you in the prayer of Salvation. Pray this prayer:
God, I need You. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life and I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. I thank you for sending Jesus to die for my sin and I open the door of my heart to receive Him as my Savior. Thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life. I give you control of my life. I thank you that according the Romans 10:9-10, I am now saved. I’m now a Christian.
If you prayed the prayer above, rejoice! You are now a Christian. Welcome to the family. We would love to hear from you! Please feel free to leave a comment below. The terms new birth, born again, receive Christ, accept Jesus, get saved, receive salvation, come to Christ, and becoming a new creature in Christ all point to the same event. They speak to fact that an individual has allowed Jesus Christ to be the Lord of their lives according to Romans 10:9-10.
The new birth experience is a life changing event. New birth means we’ve moved from spiritual death and being cut off from God to spiritual life and eternal fellowship with God. The new birth experience can be very emotional for some. Continue reading
Many believers and non-believers alike have a problem with the doctrine of hell. More specifically, the question of how a loving God can send people to hell. I personally don’t believe that God has ever sent anyone to hell. I don’t think a loving God could send anyone to hell, nor do I believe it’s His will that anyone go to hell. In fact, I believe He has done everything in His power to prevent anyone from going to hell. Continue reading
