Expectations of others comes through days, weeks, months and years of interacting with them and getting the same response from them over time. Today, I’m celebrating my 53rd birthday. I thank God for family and friends who I’ve received well wishes from. The cards and gifts that I’ve received have really made me feel appreciated. We were born to trust and we do it all day every day without giving it a second thought. For the Christian, trusting God should come just as easily.
We eat at restaurants without seeing our food being prepared trusting that the food will nourish our bodies and not harm them. We take the advice of our doctors trusting that their recommendations will help and not harm us. Read the rest of this entry »
Power vs Authority: JB was one of the sharpest recruits in my academy class. She was a great communicator, which is one of the most important tools to be equipped with as a Law Enforcement officer. JB stood approx. 5’2″ and weighed about 110 lbs. She graduated at the top of our class academically. After graduation, we both were assigned to a maximum security male jail facility. Faith comes primarily in two forms. Head faith and Heart faith. Head faith accepts situations and circumstances to be true, but relies on facts to substantiate it’s belief. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed on Him, “If you continue in my Word, then you are my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” John 8:31-32. I’d like to focus on a few words in the above verse. CONTINUE….THEN….INDEED….KNOW….and MAKE. At face value these few words might seem insignificant but let’s examine the scripture a bit closer.
