Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed

blessed

Blessed are those who take God at His word without requiring any evidence or proof to validate what they believe.

Over the years in my Christian walk I have heard friends, associates and even ministers give great testimonies of how God physically appeared to them giving certain instructions pertaining to their lives.

Others have spoken about hearing Gods voice audibly. Some have seen angelic beings who have rescued them from disastrous situations. I praise God for my brothers and sisters who have the boldness to stand up and testify of these great things that God has done in their lives.

But as for me, I’m on the other end of the spectrum.

Don’t allow the enemy to whisper in your ear that you are “less than” because you are not experiencing manifestations that someone else may be experiencing. Be of good cheer! You are the blessed of the Lord!

I’ve never seen God. I’ve never seen Jesus. I’ve never heard an audible voice from heaven. For those of us who have never heard a voice or seen an image does that mean that we are less spiritual than others? Absolutely NOT.

Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed

After Jesus’ resurrection, we have an account of Him being seen by some of His disciples. When the message was relayed to Thomas, his response was, “Unless I see the print of the nails in His hands and put my hand into His side, I will not believe”. After some days had passed Jesus appeared in the midst of the disciples and said to Thomas, “Thomas, because you have seen me you have believed. Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed” John 20:29.

Did you get that? They that have not seen, yet believe are blessed! Don’t allow the enemy to whisper in your ear that you are “less than” because you are not experiencing manifestations that someone else may be experiencing. Be of good cheer! You are the blessed of the Lord!

We are commanded to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Don’t be discouraged because God isn’t giving you a vision or a voice to instruct or comfort you. God is not required to show us signs of His Word coming to pass in our lives in order for us to believe.

Be still and know that His Word is true and stand fast on the fact that He has never said anything that has not, is not, or will not come to pass.
