Developing an Intimate Relationship with God

relationship with godYour relationship with God is a personal thing.  The ability to pray in confidence is the result of having an intimate relationship with God. I am so grateful to have a relationship with God on a personal level where He understands my every thought before I can even utter a word.

No one likes being misunderstood. No one likes having their thoughts and intentions misinterpreted and misconstrued. I praise God that I can come to Him when I don’t even know how to put into words what I’m feeling and yet have Him understand me completely. What a joy it is to have a relationship with God where we can fellowship 24/7/365. And even with as many kids as He has, I always have His undivided attention.

My closest companion here on earth is my wife, Samantha. We share everything and rarely have disagreements. But as amazing as our relationship is, there have been times when I’ve tried to share certain feelings and emotions with her that she didn’t completely understand. Likewise, as a woman she has to deal with things that I have no clue about and can lend very little support.

We are living in frightening times. Living on our own strength is the epitome of inadequacy. What a comfort it is to know that I have His Spirit in me to lead and to guide me when I need direction. No problem is too small and no issue too large.

But the intimate relationship with God that we have allows us to come to Him day or night with any issue that troubles us knowing that we will find peace.

Our relationship with God through Jesus Christ sustains us in times of trouble. We are living in frightening times. Living on our own strength is the epitome of inadequacy. What a comfort it is to know that I have His Spirit in me to lead and to guide me when I need direction. No problem is too small and no issue too large.

Developing an Intimate Relationship with God

If you don’t have an intimate relationship with God, I encourage you to begin to fellowship with Him daily. Talk to Him as you would talk to a companion that is with you when you’re running errands, travelling to and from work, or between classes at school. God is with you 24/7 and He’s just waiting to be included in your everyday life. Lean on Him in the small things as well as the major decisions of your life and you’ll find that your relationship with God will grow stronger and stronger with each and every day.

I like this post. I myself am very close to God and do tell him everything. Sometimes I go on and on and become confused, I do forget that he does not become confused and knows exactly where I am at.

It does mystify me how God can hear/read everyone's thoughts in the whole wide world. I sometimes think, that he does not hear me at that moment as he is busy doing something else.

He also completes missions for us and some bigger than others. That too mystifies me, how God does his work for everyone at the same time.

I will be thinking sometimes and just in general and before you know it , a post or sign/message/answer is given to me on the computer before I am even finished my thought. He hears all of us and knows exactly how we feel also. He cant be fooled.
He has led me to numbers, names, and feelings of others. God is amazing.

    He is great
    thank you
    Laurie

God is the ultimate multi-tasker! And with all that He does, we always have His undivided attention. Thank you so much for your comment Laurie…
